Lakes Regional Healthcare, Northwest Iowa Bone, Joint & Sports Surgeons, and Little Hands Childcare are happy to participate in this year’s Milford Pioneer Days by hosting a 5K run/walk. The event will be held on Saturday, July 27 at 9 a.m., and will begin at the corner of 9th Street and H Avenue by Florence Park and Okoboji High School, progress south on H Avenue, then west on 225th Street, then north on 213th Avenue until 13th Street (A34), where participants will turn around and run south on 213th Avenue, then proceed going west on 225th Street again, past the cemetery and to the grain bins, where participants will turn around and go east on 225th Street, then turn north on H Avenue and return to the starting location. Participants pay $25 (and are guaranteed a shirt) if registered by July 19 and $30 if registered between July 19-27. There is a special group rate of $20 per person by July 26 if three or more participants register together. Each participant will receive a short-sleeve tee shirt and snacks. There will also be medals awarded to first, second, and third place winners in eight age categories for both men and women.
People of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to participate by submitting a registration form that’s located online at www.milfordcommercialclub.com. Those who are not interested in being timed will still be able to enjoy the route and camaraderie.
Participants can register and pick up their race packets beginning at 7:30 a.m. in the Okoboji High School parking lot south of the school by the football field. The awards ceremony will be held at Florence Park immediately after the run. Proceeds will benefit the Milford Commercial Club.
